How it looks on your device
The glyph above is rendered by your own operating system or browser, so it may look slightly different on Windows, Android or iOS - that's normal, each platform ships its own emoji artwork for the same underlying character.
What it means
OK, yes, got it, approved. The workhorse of acknowledgements, and the default "like" reaction in most chat apps. Quick and unambiguous in most contexts, but famously cold-sounding to younger users when it is the entire reply.
How people use it
- Confirming you have read or agreed with a message
- Approving a plan, a document, a pull request
- Reacting to a message without typing a reply
Examples
- see you at 8 π
- π will do
- looks good to me π
Good to know
A bare π as a reply is read by many Gen Z users as passive-aggressive or dismissive, the emoji equivalent of "k". Adding a word or two ("sounds good π") fixes that. Supports skin tone modifiers.
